Improvements to Square integration
Give your Square buyers instant digital goodies 🎁
One of the easiest ways to delight your Square customers is to automatically drop digital content into their inbox the moment they buy. Whether you’re handing over a bonus PDF with a physical product, sending a license key, or surprising loyal buyers with a free download, we’ve made that whole flow much more robust and reliable.
What’s new for you
- Smoother order syncing between Square and SendOwl, so every qualifying order gets the right digital item without you lifting a finger.
- Stronger delivery logic to handle busy stores and high-volume sales, keeping your download links secure and time/attempt-limited.
- Better handling for a wider range of digital products – from ebooks and PDFs to videos, music, courses, and more.
How this helps your business
- Turn any Square product into a digital, physical-plus-digital, or bonus-freebie offer without changing your checkout flow.
- Reduce support tickets because customers get clear, automatic delivery emails with secure access links right after payment.
- Experiment with new revenue streams (like add-on guides or members-only content) while SendOwl quietly hoots away in the background doing the delivery work.
Quick start
- Connect your Square account to SendOwl from our Square App Marketplace listing: https://squareup.com/us/en/app-marketplace/app/sendowl.
- Link each SendOwl product to its matching Square item, then keep selling through your usual Square checkout while SendOwl handles fulfillment.
If there’s a specific flow you use (for example, “physical purchase + emailed PDF + unique coupon code”), reply with details and we can share best-practice setup tips so your owls deliver exactly what you need!

When you set a custom color on the Legacy 1.0 checkout templates, you rightfully expect that color to follow your buyers all the way through checkout and delivery.
Until now, there was one odd feather out: the cart abandonment pop-up screen for the default SendOwl 1.0 template ignored your custom color and fell back to the default blue. That meant a small but noticeable break in your branding at a critical recovery moment.
We’ve fixed that. From today, your chosen custom color is applied consistently across all pages in the 1.0 checkout flow, including the cart abandonment pop-up. Your buyers get a smoother, more on-brand experience, and you get one less visual glitch to worry about as you work to recapture those almost-lost sales.
One less reason for your customers to fly the coop mid-checkout!
We had a little mix-up with trial dates (oops 🦉). If you signed up later in the month, your “end of trial” date might have looked a bit off. Totally our fault — and we know that kind of thing can be frustrating.
The good news? It’s all fixed now! No matter when you start your trial, your billing page will always display the correct billing and trial end dates. Clear, accurate, and exactly what you’d expect.

SendOwl Product Description Wizard Update!
Summary Points and Detailed Summary Now Auto-Generated
We've simplified product creation! Our product description wizard now automatically generates content across all three description areas—Description, Summary Points, and Detailed Summary—using just your keywords.
What Changed
We heard you: manually crafting Summary Points and Detailed Summary sections after using the wizard felt redundant. So we fixed it.
The updated wizard now handles your entire product description in one go:
- Description: Compelling sales copy that hooks customers
- Summary Points: Bullet-point key benefits for quick scanning
- Detailed Summary: In-depth overview of features and value proposition
How It Works
Tell the wizard your product keywords, and it generates professional copy for all three sections automatically. No more jumping between fields or starting from scratch on each section. Everything flows together seamlessly.
Why This Matters
You get your products live faster without sacrificing quality. That time you used to spend writing Summary Points and Detailed Summary? Now you can focus on what actually grows your business—marketing, customer relationships, and scaling your operations.

Fixed some issues where a gift order (where the recipient of the digital download is not the person paying) was not working as expected when the merchant's account had been suspended.
A small fix but a nice improvement!
The monthly accounting report email (which can be enabled or disabled in the SendOwl dashboard Sales Summary Emails settings page) contains a PDF file summarizing your sales, taxes, and fees.
However, merchants were finding it difficult to copy and paste directly from the PDF.
As such, we now include a CSV file alongside the PDF so you can directly import it into your accounting system or copy/paste the tabular accounting data as needed.
Sometimes it's the small things that help!

PDF stamping now available when bulk editing
When editing products in bulk (applying changes to multiple products at once), you can now select a PDF stamping template.
That PDF stamping template will then be applied to any of the selected products that have a PDF file as an attachment.
It's a great way of enabling PDF stamping to multiple SendOwl products at once:

When uploading a PDF document, there are two primary options available to you:
- PDF full document locking (where the entire PDF is password protected)
- PDF stamping (where you stamp the buyer's details onto the PDF)
We now make the available options much clearer and link to the appropriate help articles:

Following from being able to highlight your Best Sellers, you can now add a row of your New Products!
Our help article goes into more details on this new option: https://help.sendowl.com/help/organizing-your-sendowl-storefront

You can now feature your top-selling products on your storefront.
